Isaac Allen, Interim-Executive Director
Isaac Allen has been working for DEBATE-Kansas City since 2006. In August of 2017 he was promoted to Interim Executive Director. In his time with DKC Isaac has worked to grow participation from a few hundred students in 2006 to over a thousand students in 2017. He spearheaded DKC’s expansion in to middle school programing which has been hailed as a national model for middle school debate. Mr. Allen has been actively involved with policy debate for nearly two decades including coaching and debating for Missouri State University. Mr. Allen also served as adjunct faculty for the UMKC Department of Communication Studies teaching Public Speaking, Discourse and Interpersonal Communication courses.
Corey Fisher, Program Officer
Corey Fisher is a graduate of DEBATE-Kansas City and has been volunteering around the league since graduating high school. Corey debated in high school at Lincoln College Prep, where he qualified for the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) tournament his senior year. In college, Corey debated for the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he won an array of top ten speaker awards and out-round trophies. His senior year of college served as a triumphant end to a storied debate career. Corey and his partner Anthony Joseph were noted as one the top 16 teams in the country that year, and were awarded a 1st Round at large bid to the National Debate Tournament (NDT). Corey and Anthony finished 2nd at the Cross Examination Debate Association (CEDA) national tournament, with Corey being named the 2nd place speaker and the CEDA Debater of the Year. At the NDT, Corey and Anthony made it to the quarter-final round, with Corey being named the 7th best speaker at the tournament. Corey now serves as an assistant coach for Emory University and a program officer for DKC.
Never Rose, Program Officer
Never Rose is a second year debater at Kansas City Community College . He debated previously at Washburn High School in Minneapolis. Never has worked with the Minnesota Urban Debate League for the past two years. After moving to Kansas City he began working with DKC schools. At DKC Never provides on site support to both high school and middle school programs,helping with recruitment and curriculum.
